The Fault In Our Stars movie

I finally got to watch TFIOS a couple of weeks ago, and it was everything that I had expected, or even better! :) I was so excited about it, and it did not disappoint me a bit. I am really glad that's happened, because usually almost everything disappoints me...
The movie, overall, was pretty loyal to the book, and the only things they missed weren't that important, even though I would've loved to see the "Lonely, vaguely, pedophilic swing set seeks the butts of children" scenes :) But I was watching the movie, and I fell for Augustus Waters all over again... Ansel Elgort was great, with his smile and his performance. The cigarette metaphor, all the scenes with Hazel (Shailene did an awesome job too, in my opinion)... I loved it.
I loved the fact that I finally found out how to pronounce Lidewij's name, which was something I was dying to know while reading the book.
The movie was beautiful... I am so happy about the adaptation to the big screen. John Green should be proud :) And the trip to Amsterdam, and Birdy's Not About Angels in the soundtrack, and Ansel with Shailene... It was great. I was watching, and I suddenly found myself in the part when they're leaving for Amsterdam, and that felt too soon, and then they love each other, and then he says he's sick and then... I started crying in that bench in Amsterdam that morning... And even if everything was sad from that point on, it was beautiful. And the quotes...
So yeah, it was a great movie, and even if it's sad, which is why some people refuse to watch it, it is so beautiful that deserves us seeing it over and over again.

The Making of Harry Potter

So about a month ago, on May 2nd, I was in London for a long weekend with my family when they decided to give me a surprise and, guess where they took me? To the Harry Potter Warner Studios!! I was so excited when I saw the bus with "The Making of Harry Potter" written on the side, because I've been wanting to go there since forever!
So the experience was as good or even better than I'd imagined, and I could see everything, from the real Great Hall to the clothes and wigs the actors used, and their wands. I saw the Gryffindor common room, and Albus Dumbledore's office (with the Sorting Hat and Godric Gryffindor's sword!!). There was the Burrow's inside, Hagrid's hut, the Ministry of Magic and even the Potions class! The Knight Bus was there, and so were the Nimbus 2000, 2001 and the Firebolt. The Horcruxes and other special objects, such as the golden snitch, the Remembrall, the time-turner and many more, rested in a glass box for all of us to see! And butterbeer, it was so much sweeter than I expected! Seeing the goblins, seeing Aragog, Buckbeak, Dobby and even the mandrakes and baby Voldemort was... wow, can't find words to describe it. And the miniature model of Hogwarts that was used for every take of the outside was right there! And the Diagon Alley... I think that was the best thing of all. Every single shop had all the inside arranged, and Gringotts, and Fred&George's shop... everything. The inside of Ollivaders was impressive, with over 7,000 hand-made wand boxes with names on it. JK Rowling had one, and also did Tom Felton, Alan Rickman, and many more of the people who helped make our childhoods literally magical. And the shop!! Wow. Everything, from clothes and cloaks and everything from every one of the houses, to chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's All-Flavoured Beans (which, of course, I had to buy!). It was awesome.
Being able to visit the set may be the best thing that's happened to me in a long, long while (if not ever). So if you live in London or ever go visit it and you're a true Potterhead, that's the thing you must do.

PS. I'll update this post soon with some pics of my visit, if you'd like to see them :)

Divergent movie!!

Sorry for not posting this earlier, but I've been really busy and haven't had time to write something this long until now...
So I finally watched the Divergent movie!! I went to the cinema a couple of weeks ago, on April 30th. The movie was supposed to be out on April 11th here, which I could understand, since the world premiere wasn't that much earlier, but on April 30th? It had been more than a month since a huge part of the world had seen it.
Nevermind, I finally did. And it was amazing! I was so excited, counting down the days and the hours until I finally got to that cinema room and sat down with my best friends, one that had read none of the books, one that read up to Insurgent and the other one, up to Allegiant
After reading the last book in the trilogy, my perspective of the story as a whole and my conception of the characters had changed, and I kind of wanted to know what people with different knowledge about the books thought of the movie.
It was fantastic. I enjoyed it so much! I just kept thinking how well pictured everything was, and how much I loved the cast. I'll keep saying it forever, but Shailene is the perfect Tris Prior. The Tris in my head was abolutely normal, not too pretty, not too smart, not too anything... (except maybe too brave?) so it made it so easy to identify oneself with her, even if I'd never choose Dauntless... And Theo... omg he's perfect <3
The only weird thing about the characters was seeing Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort in those different roles when they both play Shailene's love interest in The Spectacular Now and The Fault In Our Stars, respectively. It was weird, but I got used to it fast enough.
I'm not going to spoil you about the ending of Allegiant  if you haven't read it yeat (why haven't you????), but just let me say that some scenes really got to my heart because of Allegiant. The scene when Tris slides down the steel cable with the Dauntless initiates... wow. And when her mom dies... wow. Allegiant feelings all over. I cried, and not because of what was happening.
So the cast was great, and the movie itself was awesome. The settings, the clothing... and it was so loyal to the book! Except of that weird scene where Tris just stabbed Jeanine in the hand and injected the serum to her, in order to make Jeanine stop the simulation from finishing its work and killing all those children and innocent people from Abnegation... They kept showing Christina in the simulation, how she was about to kill those people...
Some things were kept the same way, some things weren't, but it's a movie adaptation and it was as loyal as it could have been (not like City of Bones...). So I'm really happy it was done this way, and I'm probably going to watch it again soon and maybe add things to this post, because the second time it's when I start noticing all those details I'd missed the first time.
Now everything we have left is wait for Insurgent next year and for Allegiant parts 1 and 2 on the next few years :)
Have you seen Divergent already? You liked it? What faction would you choose?

The Fault In Our Stars movie trailer!

So the TFIOS trailer came out this week!! Have you all seen it? I personally think it's great and that I cannot wait to see the movie! What do you think?
Hazel Grace Lancaster. Shailene Woodley. I must say Shailene's great, and that we're going to be seeing a lot of her in the next years. We will see her as Tris in Divergent in March, and then in TFIOS. Perfect. We're also seeing Ansel Elgort, our Augustus, in both Divergent (he's Caleb) and TFIOS. So they're both excelent choices. I can't really judge a movie by its trailer, but I definitely think this one is going to be great. I'm really looking forward to June 6th so it comes out. Other actors in the movie are Nat Wolff (Isaac), Willem Dafoe (Peter Van Houten), Lotte Verbeek (Lidewij) and Sam Trammell and Laura Dern as Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster, Hazel's parents.
The trailer looks great, similar to the book (which is what I always want), and interesting enough so that I would be looking forward to seeing it even if I hadn't read the book. I would probably want to read it after seeing the trailer. Because it's a nice trailer, and an awesome book.
So my advice is: everyone go read the book so we can all watch the movie this summer and see if it's as wonderful as I expect it to be. I'm quite sure it will. Okay? Okay.
You can find the trailer in: The Fault In Our Stars trailer

VA movie is out!!

Just coming to say that the Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters movie came out on Friday in some countries (not in mine, btw), and that I've heard plenty of things about it. This is only raising my expectations even more... I need to see it soon, please...
It's had good critics from most people, but what I really wanted to know is what fans of the books thought about it. The general opinion is that it was a great movie and that there were only a few differences with the book. I read this article a few months ago that the director wrote mentioning the main differences between the book and the movie so we fans were ready for it, so I know what to expect. Or at least I think I know.
People who haven't read the books are a bit confused about it. Just like in TMI, the movie doesn't explain everything in detail like the books do, so some things may be confusing if you haven't read it. But most people are happy with it and waiting for a sequel already. One of the things I've heard is that Zoey Deutch's performance as Rose was perfect, and that it surprised many people. I guess I'll have to wait and decide for myself.
So I haven't watched it yet, and probably won't for some time, because it will be out in my country on May 9th, which is incredibly far away from now... I hope I can see it somewhere sooner than that, mainly because I've read the books in English and there is no way I wanna go see Rose and Dimitri fall in love in Spanish... I want to hear their original voices and Danila Kolovsky's amazing Russian accent!
If you haven't seen it yet, go read the book, and then go watch it.

The Physician movie

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately, but the holidays were my time of the year far from everything, not only school, so now I'm back and I've read some good books in the meantime. Btw, happy New Year to everyone! Hope 2014 is even better than 2013 was.
It's been two years since I read the book by Noah Gordon and fell in love with it. So that's one of the reasons why I don't remember every single detail about it and can't really say everything I would like to if I remembered... I'm going to start by saying that I liked the movie. It was a great movie, and I could feel like it was me living in the 11th century. The characters were nicely portraited, and I love that. I loved the fact that it made me want to be a doctor all over again, even if it was less than what I felt with the book, obviously. If I end up choosing Medicine to study at university, The Physician will become more than just one of my two favourite books. I just worship it.
There were huge things missing in the movie, though. Can someone tell me where's Mary??? And who's Rebecca? That was the weirdest thing ever... They replaced the main character's love interest! That's horrible! Mary Cullen was a huge part of Rob, a very important character. And instead of the Christian Scottish red-head, there's a Jewish married woman that's interested in Rob. I hated that.
Almost just as bad was the Shah's relationship with Rob. In the book, they develop this unique friendship that I loved... In the book, they were the symbol of uniting religions, of friendship and diversity. Playing chess, having interesting conversations... the movie just ruined all that and portraited the Shah as a shallow, selfish person, not meaning to start a real friendship with Rob like he does in the book. That's something I would have loved to see. There are other things missing, just as Barber's death, because that's part of what triggers Rob's trip to Isfahan, and I loved Rob's trips with the Shah in the book.
Overall, the story was more or less the same. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching the movie. I understand some changes have to be made to make a movie, but I wanted the Shah and Mary as I remembered them. The strangest thing is that I read somewhere that it was Noah Gordon and his daughter who wrote the screenplay for the movie. Then why is Mary missing? She's such a huge character... And all that adultery story they made up for the movie, falling in love with a Jewish married women and all that... not right. At least he kept almost everything in the story, not like Cassie Clare did with City of Bones, even if she didn't write the script. There are other scenes I would have liked to see, and other characters I would've liked to see developed. Ibn Sina was a deeper character in the book, and his relationship with Rob was more... special. I kept feeling like there was something missing everywhere I looked.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie

So I finally went to watch City of Bones last night! I was so excited about it... I expected a lot from that movie, because The Mortal Instruments is one of my favourite sagas and I wanted it to be perfect. And maybe that's the reason why I'm so disappointed and mad, because I expected a lot from it.
Let's keep this straight. It's not a bad movie, it's quite good, with all those special effects and the storyline and everything, but it's not the right movie for the book. It's a movie made for those who haven't read the book.
But not completely, since the movie didn't really talk about the Clave, the Downworlders, the Accords, the Circle, the Silent Brothers..., which makes it difficult for people who haven't read the books to understand everything. It didn't really explain anything about the Shadowhunter world. It didn't say that Jocelyn had been married to Valentine. So I'm complaining because it didn't explain enough, but also because it showed things that weren't from the first book. Like, why has Simon been bitten by a vampire and doesn't need glasses anymore? How is that happening so early? Without mentioning that he didn't even become a rat...
I could complain about it all day, but I don't think you want to read my post if I keep complaining all the time. So I'm just going to say the key problems in the movie (or good things).
Before watching the movie, only with the trailer and some pictures, I didn't like most of the cast. I absolutely loved Godfrey Gao as Magnus Bane, but I wasn't sure about the rest of them. But after watching the movie, I love Robert Sheehan as Simon, he's perfect. And I even started to adore Lily Collins as Clary. I wasn't sure about it mainly because I have never particularly liked her, but after seeing her as Clary, I saw what a great job she did. I imagined Clary as a perfectly normal girl who ends up in a complicated situation, and that's exactly what Lily portraits in the movie. In my mind, Isabelle is a tall, slim, extremely beautiful girl, and Jemima West looked... well, more normal. But in the movie, with all the Marks and the Shadowhunter look, that was Isabelle Lightwood. Kevin Zegers as Alec wasn't that bad, but it could be better. Seeing Lena Headey as Jocelyn was weird; I couldn't stop thinking of Cersei Lannister... And the main character I have left: Jace. I don't really like Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace. That's it, I said it. The main problem with all these movies based in books is that the main male character is always imagined as completely flawless and perfect, and there's no one, no one in real life who could be that person. So about Jace... all those witty comments Jace says in the book were said by Jamie in the movie, but they weren't funny or anything, just simple words. So when Clary starts to fall for Jace, it doesn't feel like it was in the book, it doesn't feel real. And why does this Jace were an earring? Book Jace's personality was enough for a bad boy. But this is all my opinion, so maybe someone loves him. I mean, I don't hate him as Jace; I know it could be worse (it can always be worse), so with his blond hair, his Shadowhunter looks and all, he's not that bad. If I hadn't read the book and had a very concrete image of how Jace looks in my mind, I may like him. Maybe.
Another main problem in the movie was the fact that things weren't in their right order. Why do Clary and Simon go to Eric's poetry reading before going to Pandemonium? Why does Clary meet Valentine before finding out that Luke's a werewolf? Why does Hugo, Hodge's bird, catch Jace and Clary in the greenhouse before they even kiss? Mystery. And there have been two scenes which were like the ones in the book. Only two; the one where Alec tells Clary to leave the Institute, which is quite like the book one, and the one where Jace is kissing Clary and Simon opens the door. Every sentence Jace says after that, the ones about having someone else in her bed and about their love, were the exact same ones as in the book. I loved that scene.
And you want to know the worst of it? The ending was completely different. Since the moment when they get the Mortal Cup, everything is wrong. Everything is different! That ruined the movie. And the worst part? Why does Clary keep the Mortal Cup at the end of the movie? This is all wrong! And how are they going to make Valentine have it in City of Ashes if he doesn't? Even if he believes he has it... And all those special effects at the ending, with the demons and all those birds..., who needed that? They spent money in effects that weren't necessary! Why is Hodge good at the end? Hodge isn't meant to be good! He gave the Cup to Valentine? And why doesn't he earn his freedom? And why does Jace kill everything? The Ravener, Abbadon... He's taking Clary and Simon's opportunity of killing demons! And that obsession with the Nephilim rune that Clary had? That's all made up! And can someone tell me why is there a Portal in the Institute? And where's Raphael? And how is it possible that Jocelyn's been in the Institute the whole time and no one's found her?!
I could keep asking more and more questions forever, but there's no answer that I can accept. If making it the right way would mean spending lots of money or being too difficult to make it, I would undertand. But that's not it. Making it the book way is easier in most cases. So why does this happen?
I'm pretty sure that this is the longest post I've written until now, but I can't help it. If anyone wants to talk about the movie or anything, tweet me or email me or whatever (About Me page). I love analyzing movies and books :)
So I'm really mad and disappointed at the movie, and it's only been the first one of the series... They better fix it. Please. I do not hate the movie, it just let me down. A lot. But if you liked it, that's great. I'm honestly happy for you. Because I hate having great expectations about something that will end up disappointing me. And, even though, I still expect a lot from the Vampire Academy, Divergent and Catching Fire movie. I expected a lot from The Host and loved it. And I know it could have always been worse.

Divergent trailer

On August 25th, the VMAs were on on MTV, and I stayed up until 5.20am watching them. I really looked forward to the Video Music Awards because my favorite artist, Taylor Swift, would be there and was nominated to a couple of awards, and also because I love watching award shows, seeing all those people I like (or not), tweeting while watching it, seeing the performances and the dresses... And I specially looked forward to this VMAs because the Divergent trailer was going to be revealed at some point that night. When I watched it, I was so excited about everything I saw that my brain didn't process it that well, so I had to watch it again and again. That's what I do with trailers, anyway. I've seen the Catching Fire, TMI and Vampire Academy trailer thousands of times, just like The Host and other movies's, so this was not going to be an exception.
I loved the trailer. It showed a lot of meaningful scenes, not as many as in Blood Sisters, but a lot. I'm going to take this opportunity to comment about the cast too, because we can't say we hate someone as our favourite character until we've seen them acting as them. I absolutely love Shailene Woodley as Tris. When I imagined her in the book, I pictured a completely normal girl, not too beautiful, not too confident, not too shy, I pictured her as completely average, because that's what makes us relate to the character. I find very important that the main character is relatable to us, because otherwise everthing would be completely unbelievable. I like Theo James as Four, I do, but I just find him maybe too old for the role next to Shailene. When we see him tell Tris that he's not going to let her be killed, he doesn't look as a potential love interest, at least for me, but maybe when I see the movie I'll think differently.
I really like the fact that Kate Winslet is in this movie, because having a well-known actress as her gives to the movie a different look from the outside, like it's not just a new teenage dystopian story.
So, after seeing The Host, which was a good adaptation of the book, I expect this, only from the trailer, to be as good, more or less. The scenes look great; jumping from the train, learning to fight, going up the fair wheel... I expect a lot from this movie, even if that's what has made me be disappointed in some other movies.

VA: Blood Sisters trailer

I'm really, really sorry. I'd apologise all day, but I feel like I spend the whole day apologising, and every time I write a post...
I really wanted to post this as soon as I saw the trailer, but then my Internet stopped working, and then I went away and stuff... But I'm back now.
The trailer was awesome! No words to describe it, except of that expression that's used nowadays "asdfghjkl", which means "wow".
Every time a movie is being made about a book I love, I try to be ready for the worst, I never expect it to be as good as I had in mind. And it never is as good, but it can get close. Like for VA, I was really worried about finding the perfect Dimitri, because there was no way someone could be that perfect, just like I thought in TMI. The thing is that Danila seems good enough for my Dimitri, while I don't find Jamie good enough for my Jace. But that's only my opinion.
So, anyway, I'm quite happy about the VA cast, and the movie looks awesome already! The trailer shows plenty of important scenes, like the first one in the book, the one when Lissa is kidnapped, the one with a Strigoi Natalie, Dimitri and Rose training... And the lust charm. Yes, that's the important one for the fandom.
I just need to say that I'm extremely excited to see this movie, and that I can't wait till February 14th!! Even if I know for a fact that I'm going to have to wait more, because here in Spain we usually wait more than I would've liked.
If you haven't watched it yet, do it! If you haven't read the book, what are you doing with your life? :) Just read it, and then wait for the movie!
Want advice? Always read the book first.

TMI: CoB is out!

Yeah, I know I'm a couple of days late for this, and it's not that I've been waiting to post it till I saw the movie, because I haven't yet but... I don't know, just needed to post this.
City of Bones was out in every English-speaking countries on August 21st, and I still have to wait until the 30th, and then I'll try to convince my parents that going to see the movie is a life or death decision.

Just wanted you to know that I still haven't seen it and that I'm really, really excited to do so!!

Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters movie news

We finally know the whole cast of the Vampire Academy movie!! I'm just so excited to write a blog post about it... Really want to see the movie soon!! :)
The movie is going to be out in cinemas on February 14th, 2014. Yes, on Valentine's Day. And it's going to be great!
I like the cast, they're good for the characters they're playing, more or less (quite better than the TMI cast, in my opinion), and the movie can be really good, if they more or less follow the book (please...).
So here you have the list of actors and actresses, in case you haven't seen them yet:
- Zoey Deutch plays Rose Hathaway.
- Danila Kozlovsky is Dimitri Belikov (he's Russian, which means real accent!!).
- Lucy Fry is Lissa Dragomir.
- Dominic Sherwood plays Christian Ozera.
- Sami Gayle is Mia Rinaldi.
- Ashley Charles is Jesse Zeklos.
- Cameron Monaghan plays red-head Mason Ashford.
- Sarah Hyland (yes, from Modern Family) plays Natalie Dashkov.
- Olga Kurylenko is Headmistress Kirova.
- Claire Foy plays Sonya Karp.
- Gabriel Byrne is Victor Dashkov.
- Joely Richardson plays Queen Tatiana from the Ivashkov family.
So what do you think about the cast? I'm just really excited to see them working together and let's see how the movie looks like! They're filming in Europe, in the UK most of the time, and they're going to include some photography scenes from Montana, where the book really takes place. And I think it's perfect that the actor playing Dimitri is Russian, because we are really going to be able to listen to a beautiful Russian accent while falling in love...
Author Richelle Mead is happy with the cast and with everything movie-related, and she's just as exctited as we all VA fans are. The only thing they've really changed (that we know) is the title. Blood Sisters instead of Vampire Academy. Why? Don't know, really, but if they leave the whole saga as Vampire Academy it's okay for me.
What do you think? Like the cast members or not?

Divergent movie news

The cast and other information for the Divergent movie were announced less than two months ago, and not everyone is happy about them, it's not how we imagined the characters while we were reading them.
- Shailene Woodley plays Tris Prior, the main character of the book.
- Theo James is Four, the other main character, and the character we girls were most looking forward to know.
- Kate Winslet will be Jeanine, the evil one in the film.
- Ansel Elgort is Caleb Prior, Tris's smart brother.
- Zoe Kravitz is Christina, Tris's new friend in Dauntless, brave and reckless.
- Maggie Q. will play Tori, another Dauntless member.
- Ben Lloyd-Huges plays Will, one of Tris's new friends.
- Ben Lamb will be Edward, another friend.
- Christian Madsen is Al, another friend.
- Jai Courtney is Eric, the Dauntless leader Tris doesn't seem to particularly like.
Uriah, Peter and other characters are still being cast, even if there are many rumours that haven't been confirmed yet.
The movie is currently being filmed in Chicago, USA, but I'm not sure if they started yet...
So what do you think? Are the actors like you imagined the characters?

Catching Fire trailer

Finally!! The Catching Fire trailer finally aired last night, but thanks to timezones, I had to wait until this morning to watch it (it was the first thing I did when I woke up).
What do you think about it? I loved it, ok? But, I don't know, I expected many different things to be in it. By the way, there are going to be spoilers here, so if you haven't read the book, you'll maybe don't want to read this...
I really expected more scenes in the arena to appear in the trailer or something because, you know, that's what the book is about. But yeah, just like I thought while reading Catching Fire, Katniss doesn't get to the arena since more or less half the book, so... I guess it's okay to show in the trailer why does President Snow want old winners back to the arena. Which I think it's unfair, by the way. You know, if you've fought against 23 people to survive and fight for your life, and you've been lucky enough to win, why do you have to do it again? The good thing about going to The Hunger Games was that you can never be selected anymore...
Finnick didn't appear in the trailer, right? They should have shown him, because he's one of the characters the fandom seems to like most. And the other winners, from the other districts, should have appeared as almost main characters.
Katniss's kiss with Gale appeared, though, and some other things I didn't want my sister to see because she hasn't read the book. If you already know what's going to happen, it's not fun to read it anymore.
But now that we have the trailer, November 22nd looks a bit closer to me... I'm really excited to see what the movie will look like!!
If you haven't watched it yet, you can watch it here:
Tell me if it doesn't work.
What else do you think was missing in the trailer? Or what do you think was too much to be shown? Have you read the book?

Movies I'm looking forward to...

Lately, many books are being or have been made into movies, so we are all really excited to see if the story in the big screen is just like it was in our minds, if the cast that has been chosen for the movie is as good as we made up the characters in our minds.

The list of movies I've been or I am looking forward to...
- Perks of Being a Wallflower. After reading the amazing book, everything I wanted was to see the movie, but when I finally had time to, the movie had been out of the cinema. Can't believe I haven't watched it yet...
- Beautiful Creatures. Don't judge me, but I haven't been able to finish the book yet... I just... it didn't catch me... So I didn't allow myself to see the movie because I hadn't read the book.
- The Host. I read the book during the summer of 2009, and it's been a long time since then... But I was so ready for the movie! For once, I'm really happy to be Spanish, because I was able to watch the movie last week, on the 22nd, while the rest of the world is waiting to see it tomorrow, March 29.
- City of Bones. It's going to be out in cinemas on August 23, and I'm just so excited!! I've read every single book there is about the Shadowhunter world, and I can't wait to see it on the big screen! I'll write a post about it in a while :)
- Catching Fire. After the great movie The Hunger Games was, the incredible amount of people who are inspired by the movie, everyone who's read the book... They have millions of fans expecting with excitement the movie premiere November 22.
- Divergent. This book was fantastic. I loved it and recommended it to everyone I know. I'm really excited to know it's going to be turned into a movie, and the cast was announced very recently. I'm going to write a long post about the cast and what I think about them, because they aren't really as I imagined. It's schedule to come to cinemas in March, 2014.
- Blood Sisters. Have you read the Vampire Academy series? Because I totally love them and since the moment I heard the rumour that there was going to be a movie based on them, I've been impatiently waiting for news. The cast has been recently announced, and they seem quite perfect for the roles. They've changed the title from Vampire Academy to Blood Sisters.

Have you read the books? Are you as excited as I am for the movies?

The Host movie

For once, I'm really happy to be Spanish!! Here in Spain, The Host came to cinemas yesterday, March 22nd, because of Easter holidays being here next week, so no movies can be released next Friday. I went to the premiere yesterday with my friends, all of us very excited of being there! But I think that, of all the cinema, I was the only person who had read the book. No one else looked like they knew what the movie was about before it started. In the USA and the rest of the world, the movie is out on cinemas
I was worried that the movie may disappoint me after reading the book, but it didn't. Not for a moment. I thought it was really similar to the book, except some details but, you know, it's been almost four years since I read it for the first time.
After reading the Twilight series, I decided I'd give another chance to Stephenie Meyer to surprise me. Don't get me wrong; I liked Twilight, but The Host's plot is way more original.
The main cast are Saoirse Ronan (Wanderer/Melanie Stryder), Max Irons (Jared Howe), Jake Abel (Ian O'Shea) and Diane Kruger (The Seeker).
The special effects were great, the Souls were perfect tiny shiny things that moved in someone's hands... And the eyes... They shined in the dark, with that light blue circle around the pupil... Perfect. And Diane did such a good job being the bad one in the movie...
I cried, laughed, smiled... Everything. Maybe other people won't feel that way about the movie, but I really liked it.
If you have read the book, you'll like the movie a lot! I loved it! And there's everyone in Twitter still counting the days for the premiere... I'm so happy to have seen it!!
